Hard Candy
I passed it over in the video store several times but finally rented it tonight.
Wow.
Around Christmas 1995 a friend came to visit me in my newly married, presumably happy, life in Michigan. We went to a museum where we saw an exhibit of a Japanese tea room. Outside the display was an attempt to describe this exhibit. It started with something like: “Within the tea room, one feels loneliness which penetrates into the marrow of one’s bones...” and ended with the caution “Please do not enter the tea room”. I laughed out loud. If you don’t get it, you probably should leave.

So, what was your response? Or, to rephrase: do you recommend it? I had a hard time parsing the reviews on this one and didn't want to get myself into an intellectual quagmire by watching it and hating myself for doing so.
If that makes sense!
Did you see/like Freeway? It's sort of along those lines, except the girl is more um...proactive. It could result in an intellectual quagmire, although personally I found it to be an excellent movie. It's hard to say I "liked" it since it's a tough subject matter to like.
